Canarini striker Federico Dionisi scored the opening goal at the 16th minute to give the early lead to Roberto Stellone's squad. However, Albanian defender Arlind Ajeti netted an own goal at the 22nd to tie the count.

Ajeti compensated for the mistake with a goal right at the 45th minute, but Sassuolo forward Diego Falcinelli was able to equalize the game for the last time at the 74th to share the point in the overall standings.

Meanwhile, Napoli turned back a hard-fighting Torino eleven, 2-1, at the Stadio San Paolo also on Wednesday for their second consecutive victory and third undefeated game overall, as per Football Italia.
