'Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 confirmed coming; Release date pushed back to 2017?

'Tokyo Ghoul' is a TV anime produced by Studio Pierrot based on the manga of the same name.

The release of "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 is going to take longer than expected following reports claiming that the material is not finished yet.

In November 2015, FUNimation Entertainment CEO Gen Fukunaga confirmed that the Season 3 of the dark fantasy anime, "Tokyo Ghoul," will definitely be out at some point this year.

However, another report came saying that the long-awaited Season 3 will be delayed since its manga counterpart is only composed of 43 chapters, adding that it is not sufficiently enough to complete a whole season.

That said, it is now strongly speculated that there is a high chance that the upcoming Season 3 will venture out from the original manga storyline. Thus, it is reportedly safe to assume that some filler contents might be used in order to manage the expected gaps in the anime series and to fully deliver a full season.

While many fans are pleased with the new revelation, the continued clamor for a reboot of "Tokyo Ghoul," rather than the continuation of Season 3 is making a fuss online.

Fans who have read the Season 2 manga version of "Tokyo Ghoul" were apparently disappointed that a lot of events did not really tie in with the original storyline, The Cross Map reported.

Hence, a rumored reboot revolving around Touka Kirishima being the main spotlight of the upcoming "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 are started making rounds in the online world.

Kirishima, a ghoul, and ex-waitress at Anteiku is said to be one of the highlights in the upcoming first episode, where she will reportedly lament her distress over choosing between To-Oh University, Kamii University, and Duke University, Anime Maru has learned.

However, it seems that it will not be an easy journey for Kirishima as the trepidation of ghoul discrimination is particularly omnipresent in the upcoming season, following the recent incident of a noose discovered hanging at Duke and the rise in racial tension in the United States.

While nothing is impossible, the reports ought to be taken with a grain of salt unless FUNimation confirmed the news. Check out the video below:
