“The Blacklist” Season 4 premieres on Sept. 22 on NBC.

In a couple of days, "The Blacklist" TV-series of NBC will return on the small screen to continue its remaining episodes of its current season. The upcoming episodes of "The Blacklist" season 3 are said to reveal the truth behind Tom and his so-called mentor, and is said to set the show's rumored spin-off.

Making spin-offs of a popular TV-series is not a new thing to NBC. In fact, the peacock network has already done this before, and this strategy did wonders in terms of the ratings. The report of Variety may have confirmed NBC's plans to insert a spin-off series for "The Blacklist." The report revealed that the network is looking forward to cast Famke Janssen, who gained popularity in playing the role Jean Grey in the X-Men movies. Janssen will have the lead role which she will play the character of Susan 'Scottie' Halstead.

Although there are all sorts of news relating to "The Blacklist" spin-off, it seems that NBC has not confirmed it officially. Jennifer Salke, NBC's entertainment president, said that they are indeed talking about the possibility of making a spin-off of the hit Chicago franchise, but they are still not committed to do the speculated backdoor series.

On one hand, if NBC would finally decide to do the spin-off, then there is a high probability that Ryan Eggold will be one of the main casts of the series, because Eggold is rumored to play Tom Keen who will be Halstead partner. Gossips also claims that the fans of the show will see Janssen's character (Susan Halsted) being introduced in "The Blacklist" season 3 episode 21 this coming May 5. The pilot episode of the spin-off is rumored to air on May 21.

"The Blacklist" season 3 is expected to return on April 7, yet the status of the series' speculated spin-off is said to be officially announced next month. As of the moment, "The Blacklist" has been renewed by NBC for its season 4. Variety reported that the renewal was confirmed by Jon Bokenkamp, "The Blacklist's" creator.
