In a recent interview with Brazilian publication Omelete via Entertainment Weekly, Peter Capaldi, the actor who plays the Doctor, confirmed that the series have already found the new companion. He has remained mum on who the particular new "Doctor Who" person is. However, according to the veteran actor, fans should expect something new and exciting for the program, come the introduction of the new companion.

"Obviously I know who that is and we've been doing a bit of work together already, and it's very exciting. Because it's a very different sort of take on it," gushed by Capaldi.

During the same interview, Capaldi explained how different the new companion is from Jenna Coleman's Clara Oswald. He says the dynamics between the doctor and the companion would be very different than what the Doctor had with Clara. Clara knew the Doctor before becoming his companion. Unlike her, the new addition to the show knows very little about the TARDIS and the Doctor.

"She was already with Matt [Smith], she knew the Daleks and the TARDIS. Now we have someone who knows very little about the Doctor," explained by Capaldi.

Coleman confirmed that she would be leaving the cult hit before the ninth season finale. According to the actress, the decision was made because it was what is best for the storyline of the show. While she is very excited about the future of her career and the future of "Doctor Who," she admitted that it was very hard to leave her role. According to Coleman in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, playing Clara was a dream come true and it was very hard to say goodbye to the show and her cast mates.

"It's a lot more than just a job - the friendships I have with the crew and Peter, it's very hard to say goodbye to it," explained Coleman.
