Apple Watch 2 will feature digital crown, camera and watchOS 3.

Rumors has it that the upcoming Apple Watch 2 will no longer need an iPhone in order to make calls and send text messages.

Apple's smart watch is considerably below what some users expect it to be. It is because one should need an iPhone to use the messaging and call features of the said device. It is said that the "Apple Watch 2" will live up to the gadget enthusiasts' expectation, and that it should be way better compared to its predecessor.

A lot of rumors recently points out to Apple Watch 2 being independent to iPhone. This only means that users can make a call and send text messages directly to the said smart watch without the need of an iPhone. The rumor sparked when the Wall Street Journal released a report recently that Apple is going to provide Apple Watch 2 its very own cellular network connectivity.

On the other note, there is a high probability that Apple would consider the said Apple Watch 2 having its own cellular network, because the company's biggest rivals, Samsung and LG, have already use the said technology on their smart watch products. This is why if Apple would want to remain significant in the smart watch battle, then it may consider adopting the said feature to its upcoming Apple Watch 2.

However, the downside of the said feature is that users may need to pay extra, because it has been reported that Apple Watch 2 may only work on a separate data plan. As a result, the user will also need to pay that data plan aside from their iPhone's monthly bills; however, this may be corrected by the eSIM technology that the three giant tech companies - Apple, Samsung and Microsoft - are working on. The eSIM is said to give users the capability to share their existing data plan on their Apple gadgets, which includes the much anticipated Apple Watch 2, Forbes reported.

Nevertheless, it seems that Apple is working hard to make its Apple Watch 2 way better compared to its predecessor, because rumors has it that the said device will have a speedy processor, and users can enjoy FaceTime in this device via its front camera.

Hopefully in the near future, more news about the Apple Watch 2 will surface, including its release date.
