"Bounty Hunters" is an upcoming joint Chinese-Korean film starring Lee Min Ho,Tiffany Tang and Wallace Chung.

The highly anticipated Chinese-Korean action film "Bounty Hunters," which stars Lee Min Ho and follows the adventures of five bounty hunters working across countries in Asia, was originally set to be released in June but is being pushed back until July 1.

The hitch was due to production team aiming to perfect the final production and to have more time to promote the film beforehand. It was also reported that the production team moved the release date, as they were targeting the busy theater season in China, which starts from July.

"This is not just a co-produced film by Korea and China. It is a big-scale global project aimed to promote 'Asian Hollywood," an official from Star House Entertainment said in a statement obtained by Soompi. "We are expecting good results since it is a high-quality production."

The production company is confident that the upcoming film will draw a lot of audiences, stating that not just the film's action and comedy match well with the public's taste, but the actors' realistic acting will make the characters come to life as well.

With an estimated production cost of staggering $31 million to produce, the film is said to be the most expensive film ever that was shot in South Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong and Thailand. The film is helmed by Tae-Ra Shin (My Girlfriend is an Agent) with a script penned by screenwriter Edmond Wong.

Lee, who gained international fame through his success in the blockbuster drama 2009's "Boys Over Flowers," is up to play the smart and cute lead character, Yi San, who is a skilled martial artist. The 28-year-old star underwent martial arts training for several months for the said role, particularly on Arnis, also known as Eskrima or Kali, Filipino martial arts that emphasize weapon-based fighting using various improvised weapons such as sticks and knives, Drama Fever reported.

The film also features an ensemble of Hong Kong and Chinese cast led by Wallace Chung aka Chung Hon Leung and Tiffany Tang. Wallace has been cast to play Lee's brother, Ayo, who is also the group's planner, while Tang will play Wonder Woman Cat, the group's leader who falls in love with Lee's character.

The other cast members include Karena Ng, Louis Fan, and Jones Xu. The action-comedy movie is reportedly set to be screened on April 16 at 10 AM (EST) at the 69th annual Cannes Film Festival.

"Bounty Hunters" is also set to bow down in theaters across Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand at a later date. Check out the trailer below:
