'Need For Speed' 2015 update: Ghost Games confirms no more free updates for the game; New 'NFS' sequel to launch on 2017!

Need For Speed is an open world racing video game developed by Ghost Games and published by Electronic Arts for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

New details for "Need for Speed" 2015 will have no more free in-game updates and the next "NFS" sequel will be released on 2017.

Game developer Ghost Games announced that they will no longer release new in-game updates "Need for Speed" 2015 in the coming months this year as they are prioritizing a new sequel for the series, Gamespot reported. EA and Ghost Games launched the last update on April as it featured several new features and in-game fixes and upgrades such as multiplayer Speedlist, new solo events called the "Prestige" and Daily Challenges.

The Speedlist will have a series of five predetermined events that players to compete against each other on Quick Play, Speed, Style, or Mixed modes. Each event will have players earn points whichever place they win in a race and will wait for the next Speedlist event. Gamers will earn several titles like "Street Urchin", "Sunday Driver", "Wannabe Racer", "Stick shifter", "True Contender", "Rising Star", "Night Rider" etc. until they reach "World Champion" status.
The "Prestige" mode can be unlocked once the gamers finished the solo campaign in "Need for Speed" 2015. It features a new app to the in-game phone, which lets gamers to switch between regular and Prestige events. The new events are more challenging versions of the ones they have played throughout the story mode.

Other features include Drift Corners and Speed Runs, while new Daily Challenges, new Community Campaigns for REP bonuses, $ bonuses and discounts, three new Achievements and Trophies, improved network warning messages for players with a poor connection, new red zone on the rev counter to clearly see their rev limit, updated Drag Race Outro comparison screen and various bugs, improvements and stability fixes.

In other news, the new "Need for Speed" sequel will be in development soon as Ghost Games stated that they are laying the foundations for the game series and will deliver their next sequel on 2017, Polygon reported.

Ghost Games previouly announced job openings which includes a UI Software Engineer, a Senior Vehicle Artist and a Development Director. In addition, the candidates must have some knowledge of cars from parts, surfacing, style, customizations etc.

It is rumored that the new "Need for Speed" game will have a collisions and car damages features. Gamers can expect more details from EA and Ghost Games for the "NFS" title soon.

"Need For Speed" 2015 is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
