The hit CW spinoff series of "The Vampire Diaries," "The Originals," is not in the fall line-up of the network. With that said, the series may not be able to air its fourth season this year.
According to TVLine, president of The CW Mark Pedowitz said on a conference call that they chose to hold "The Originals" Season 4. The CEO added that this move should strengthen their mid-season schedule. The same publication also confirms that the current fall roster that includes "The Vampire Diaries," "Supernatural," "Arrow," "Frequency," "Legends of Tomorrow," "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," "No Tomorrow," "The Flash," "Supergirl" and "Jane the Virgin."
It can be remembered that crossovers between "The Originals" and "The Vampire Diaries" were made during the previous seasons of both series. With that said, it is also possible that the upcoming season of the shows may deliver the same strategy to acquire increase in ratings. Hollywood Life even noted that the series' creator and executive producer, Julie Plec, teased the fans that more crossovers may be expected.
The EP said that it has been such as a rare comfort that the two vampire series were able to fuse in a particular episode. She added that although the crossovers left fans delighted and kept them tuned in with the show, Plec clarified that she did it not only for the ratings, but also because she finds enjoyment by doing it.
Since fans already saw Klaus and Caroline team-up in a previous season, wherein on a particular crossover, the character of "The Originals" Klaus (Joseph Morgan), said to "The Vampire Diaries" character, Caroline (Candice King), that he would protect Stefan (Paul Wesley), rumors indicates that there is a possible appearance of Klaus in the upcoming "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. The rumor sparked when Caroline shouted the name of Klaus in the May 6 episode of the series, Yahoo reported.
Meanwhile, since "The Originals" Season 3 has reached its conclusion just a couple of days ago, news about its fourth season's plot may not be available in the coming weeks as the series is on hold. Perhaps, what fans may be eager to know is whether Klaus would enter the "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.
