With the newly released trailer of "Mafia 3," the clip suggests players will be more allowed to make decisions of their own. Players will also be able to interact fully with the criminal underworld with the great depth and detail the new game has to offer. Several images also revealed how impressive the New Bordeaux has become in the game.
As for the player freedom, players will be allowed to make several choices on how they are going to achieve a mission's objectives, how they would be able to infiltrate the criminal ring and how they will be gathering information, Gaming Bolt reported. The players will also be given freewill to conduct other optional targets like seizing safehouses.
The upcoming game will also allow players to do extra missions if they are more "inquisitive," Rock Paper Shotgun noted. The report explained that the developer did not devise this feature just to keep the story moving forward, but rather to help achieve the game's central narrative which is criminal rackets. The New Bordeaux was also described impressive especially that it will be featuring its most popular landmarks which can be explored by players. "Mafia 3" executive producer Denby Grace even explained that the city is "king for us."
The same report also noted how the game is too "believable" and how the developers, 2K Czech and Hanger 13 were able to craft it with so much details. In an interview with Mafia 3 game design director Matthias Worch, when asked about how the game relates in real life, he explained that they have put a lot of work in patterning how a mafia operates. He said that this organization's operations ran different parts of the city using big businesses as their front to launder money in order to conduct their illegal activities.
Several specific details are expected to be unveiled during the upcoming E3 event this year. Excitement may be stirred among fans especially that the new trailer confirms how much they can do with the upcoming installment, and how much attention was put in creating detail. "Mafia 3" is set for release by October this year on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
