If you're looking to purchase a new smartwatch, you'll have a couple more options to choose from as Fossil's new Android Wear watches are slated to hit store shelves later this month.
The American watchmaker announced on Tuesday (Aug. 9) that its Q Marshal and Q Wander smartwatch models, which it announced earlier this year, will be available for pre-order on Friday (Aug. 12) before being available for purchase on Aug. 29 in Fossil stores and on its website with prices starting from $295.
"Q Wander and Q Marshal beautifully marry form and function for a stunning addition to your everyday style," Jill Elliott, Fossil's chief creative officer, said in a statement. "Fossil is known for its quality timepieces and we're proud of the seamless expansion to our wearables collection. These slim yet highly functional smartwatches reflect the elevated design of a Fossil watch while incorporating a digital experience that's important to today's customer."
When the two variants are measured up against each other, there is not a whole lot of difference between them. Both devices support Android Wear and are compatible with Android as well as iOS smartphones. Both models also feature a 45 mm case size, microphone/speaker and an always-on touchscreen display.
However, the variance lies in the design elements of the watches. While the Q Wander sports a gold finish and soft curves, the Q Marshal comes in a more rugged and vintage design. Therefore, if one is looking for durability then the Q Marshal would be the ideal choice, according to Android Headlines.
Fossil also pointed out that users will be able to customize both smartwatch variants and will have a wide variety of watch straps to choose from including leather, silicone and stainless steel options.
However, it is worth noting that one feature missing from these watches is a heart rate sensor, which several other smartwatches in the market are offering.
