'Watch Dogs 2' update: Ubisoft to reveal more game details at Gamescom 2016; New trailer features DedSec's rise, hacker culture [VIDEO]

Ubisoft confirms Watch Dogs 2 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms and it will be release on November 15.

The latest details for "Watch Dogs 2" will feature possible new game details at Gamescom 2016 and the rise of DedSec and the hacking culture in a new trailer.

Ubisoft announced there line-up of video game titles in the upcoming Gamescom 2016 event on Aug. 17-21. These games include "Eagle Flight", "For Honor", "Steep", "Star Trek Bridge Crew", "Ghost Recon Wildlands", "South Park: The Fractured But Whole", and the "Watch Dogs 2".

Ubisoft's EMEA executive director Alain Corre stated that Gamescom 2016 is the key moment for the industry and for the game developers as it gives them the opportunity to put our games into thousands of players’ hands and get their feedback to make them even better.

The event will also allow Ubisoft to showcase the innovations that are driving the industry in terms of gameplay and technology, and the variety of amazing experiences that allowed them to create games in the first place. With that in mind, Ubisoft will be showing some of their most highly-anticipated games during the event to keep the gaming fans excited, Gamingbolt reported.

In other news, Ubisoft streamed a new game trailer for"Watch Dogs 2" and it features the rise of the fictional hacktivist group, DedSec and the influence of the hacking community in the game.

Senior Producer Dominic Guay stated the development team was interested in exploring “hacktivism” when creating the main character Marcus Holloway, and the DedSec crew as they focus on social motives and hiddent corruptions within the game. Guay explained that hacktivism is something very present in the hacker culture as individuals want to expose some information that they only get to access

Ubisoft sought help from the hacker community in order to understand their culture and their beliefs in society and culture in general, whether in "Watch Dogs 2" or in real life.

"Watch Dogs 2" will focus on Marcus Holloway and his friends in DedSec as fights for what he thinks is injustice and he will need similar minded people on his quest.

The sequel will feature more advanced hacking skills as Marcus can hack and control any technology he can find from phones and security cameras to electronic locks and cars. There are also remote controlled drones that Marcus can use to scout and infiltrate difficult areas, parkour moves to travel around buildings and weapons that he can use to incapacitate his enemies.

Ubisoft added that "Watch Dogs 2" will not feature a tower unlock system similar to "Assassin's Creed" and "Far Cry" as creative director Jonathan Morin confirmed that statement saying that "Watch Dogs 2" will not have towers and gamers will just have to explore each area within the game.

Morin added that "Watch Dogs 2" will have a new progression system which ties to the number of followers the player has and it will unlock new missions as they complete activities and make new discovery.

"Watch Dogs 2" will launch on Nov. 15 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
