'Injustice 2' rumors: Sequel's launch date set on March 2017; New game trailer features 'Suicide Squad' members Harley Quinn, Deadshot [VIDEO]

NetherRealm Studios confirmed the development of "Injustice 2" for the PS4, Xbox One and possibly for the PC.

"Injustice 2" will feature two members of the Suicide Squad joining the game's roster in a latest trailer and the possible March 2017 release date.

NetherRealm Studios showcased a new game trailer for "Injustice 2" during the Gamescom 2016 event as two famed DC super villains and Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn and Deadshot join the game's growing roster.

Harley Quinn in "Injustice 2" sports are new biker styled outfit with her hair color surprisingly similar to the her "Suicide Squad" movie counterpart played by Margot Robbie. She fights with array of dangerous gag like weapons such as a gianr mallet, baseball bats, explosive dynamites and even his two pet Hyenas.

There are also costume upgrades for Harley Quinn as well, and like the rest of the DC characters, the costumes can enhance her abilities or even unlock new ones. Her costumes will be mixture of classic and current outfits in the DC comics.

Aside from Harley Quinn, Deadshot is also featured as playable character in "Injustice 2" as he was recently added to the "Injustice" mobile app game. Deadshot fights using his machine gun gauntlets with perfect aim and precision, and a sniper rifle, VG 24/7 reported.

It was previously reported that "Mortal Kombat" creator Ed Boon teased the arrival of Red Hood, Starfire, John Constantine and Black Manta into the roster of "Injustice 2" via series of online votes on Twitter.

Boon even asked fans which version the Red Hood will be featured in "Injustice 2"; the Joker or Jason Todd. There is also a high percentage that Starfire will be added to the game's roster as well.

In addition, NetherRealm Studios is planning to have a guest character for "Injustice 2" as it is hinted that another "Mortal Kombat" character could be joining the roster. Boon stated that there is a certain novelty into it and there is a certain amount of people who think that when they see a guest character that it took the slot of a DC character that they wanted to have.

Boon cited Scorpion's guest appearance in the first "Injustice", which became the most downloaded character of them all, not to mention the popularity of Alien and Predator inn"Mortal Kombat X" which made the game more interesting.

In other news, it seems that the possible release date for "Injustice 2" has been revealed as French video game website Gameblog, "Injustice 2" could launch on March 2017 in all gaming platforms.

Although the placeholder could be a subject of change in the website since NetherRealm has not yet announced an official release date for the sequel.

The plot of "Injustice 2" will take place after the first game as Batman tries to rebuild the world after Superman's One Earth Regime,while at the same time stopping the Man of Steel's loyalist in breaking him out of his Red Sun prison, unaware that an even greater threat is coming to earth.

NetherRealm Studios has not yet announced an official release date for "Injustice 2" for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
