'Star Wars Battlefront' DLC rumors: 'Scarif' expansion to launch alongside 'Rogue One' movie; New PS VR gameplay trailer streamed [VIDEO]

Star Wars Battlefront is an upcoming action video game based on the Star Wars franchise developed by DICE and distributed by EA Games.

The latest details for "Star Wars Battlefront" will feature a possible release date for the "Scarif" DLC expansion and a new gameplay trailer for the PlayStation VR.

Several rumors are making rounds regarding the possible release date for "Star Wars Battlefront" upcoming DLC the "Scarif" expansion. The new DLC will feature the "Rogue One" characters Jyn Orso and Imperial Director Orson Kennic as playable characters for the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire. There will also be new weapons and a new battlefield setting which is tropical beach-like planet.

As for its release date, Electronic Arts and DICE will likely launch the new DLC expansion in "Star Wars Battlefront" sometime on December coinciding with the "Rogue One" film, GameNGuide reported.

For now, gaming fans will have to wait for further updates and details regarding the "Rogue One" themed expansion for "Star Wars Battlefront" very soon.

In other news, the latest gameplay trailer for "Star Wars Battlefront" will feature the incredible features from Sony's upcoming VR gear device, the PlayStation VR.

The new trailer will see gamers fighting as a X-Wing fighter for the Rebel Alliance, having dog fights with the Imperial Forces TIE fighters in space. Gamers who have already own a copy of "Star Wars Battlefront" on the PS4, will have to upgrade it to get the mission for free.

Judging by the video, the X-Wing VR mission will be fast and have a lot of movement. EA and DICE previously launched the "Death Star" DLC expansion which featured two new characters; Chewbacc and Bossk, a new game mode called "Skirmish", new weapons, new Star Cards and numerous in-game updates and bug fixes, PlayStationLifeStyle reported.

The DLC will also have changes current characters such as Darth Vader can now deflect Han Solo's Lucky Shot or Leia's Trooper Bane, but he will become stunned for a period. When using Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader, enemies will now always die from lightsaber attacks, even if they are using the Bacta Bomb star card.

Boba Fett has been changed so that his flamethrower ability can be canceled. Players can do this by pressing the activation button again. In addition, his flamethrower damage distance has been boosted from 3.5 meters to 4.75 meters

"Star Wars Battlefront" is currently available in stores for the PS4, Xbox One and for the PC.
