"Destiny" is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Activision.

New details for the rumored "Destiny 2" will feature a full open-world setting, MMO style gameplay and a 2017 release date for all gaming platforms.

It seems that the rumored sequel to Bungie's popular sci-fi video game "Destiny" will likely have a few changes in terms of gameplay as several gamers posted on the "Destiny" subreddit page, a request to have bigger worlds than the first game.

Gamers complained about "Destiny" having small and lifeless environments due to the small server sizes and heavy instancing, it was very hard to find other players organically. The succeeding DLCs like "House of Wolves" and "The Taken King" attempted to freshen up the open-world experience for "Destiny, but it’s clear that the fundamental foundation was holding things back.

Luckily, "Destiny 2" will no longer be constrained limitations of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, thus Bungie will likely open up new ideas to expand the sequel as they wish, Some gamers wanted an full open-world experience and MMO style gameplay.

In addition, "Destiny 2" will likely have gamers pilot their ships and use it to explore the terrain of the planet as an actual vehicle, Kotaku reported.

The sequel is said to be ported to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, as well as a PC version marking it the first time game is headed to the PC platform.

"Destiny 2" will be a totally different game separating it from the first game and its numerous expansion storylines. Gamers are expected to have new experiences in exploring terrains from new worlds, new enemies to fight and doing new activities, making the gameplay more interesting to gamers, GameNGuide reported.

Gaming fans will get to see more interesting places on the planet they step foot on "Destiny 2" as to expand the stages and explore more ground instead of being confined to a closed and visible area. More active environments are teased in "Destiny 2", instead of players going in the Tower or other social spaces between quests, they will be able to interact with NPCs and kick off activities in the active game world.

Rumor has it that gamers are able to queue for activities, while still controlling their character, similar to "World of Warcraft", instead of going to Orbit to sit in matchmaking.

So far, there is no official release date for "Destiny 2", but gamers are lookin forward to hear more details of the sequel sometime next year.
