James Ellsworth reacts after knowing that he has a chance to become the WWE World Champion.

The WWE has been taken over by James Ellsworth despite being built as a jobber and having no chin at all. Many fans are wondering if Ellsworth will get a full-time deal with the WWE and the latest rumors have revealed an update on his status with the company.

According to All Wrestling News, Ellsworth is still under a per date basis deal and he will only be contacted if there are future plans for him. After this week's episode of SmackDown, he did not get any news regarding his next appearance.

The 32-year-old independent wrestler became famous after jobbing to Braun Strowman on the July 25 episode of Monday Night Raw. He had a unique look that the fans loved and he instantly became a meme due to his chinless attitude.

Ellsworth was then given an opportunity by SmackDown Live general manager Daniel Bryan two weeks ago when he went toe-to-toe with WWE World Champion A.J. Styles. With the help of Dean Ambrose, who is the special guest referee, he defeated Styles via pinfall.

The chinless wonder was then granted a title shot against Styles this week and he won again but this time via disqualification. Now, the WWE is asking fans through a survey what they want next for Ellsworth.

The leading answer at the moment is Ellsworth receiving a SmackDown Live contract. Several reports have also noted that his t-shirt has outsold merchandise from superstars such as Bill Goldberg, Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

In a recent appearance on the Bischoff on Wrestling podcast, Ellsworth mentioned that WWE chairman Vince McMahon praised him for his work with Styles. He added that he was overwhelmed by the reaction he got from the big boss.

"After the match, I got to walk up and shake his hand and he told me, "Good job." From him it means the world. I have so much respect for him. He's the number one guy in the business and has been for a long time," Ellsworth said.

"I never expected to even have a conversation with him, ever. For him to just look me in the eye and tell me, "Good job," that's the most overwhelming thing to me. For sure," he added.

It should be noted that these are all rumors at the moment and should be taken with a grain of salt. If Ellsworth's merchandise sells a lot, it is a great sign since the WWE loves superstars who can move items since they bring money to the company.
