New "Injustice 2" updates will feature Ra's al Ghul and the Atom in the sequel, as well as the PC and mobile versions of the game to launch after the console versions.
It is previously hinted that DC characters Captain Cold, Red Hood, Black Canary and Starfire are headed to the roster of "Injustice 2". Now two characters are now rumored to be part of the sequel in the form of League of Assassin leader Ra's al Ghul and Ray Palmer a.k.a. The Atom, EventHubs reported.
Both characters are being hinted due to their popularity in the DC TV series "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow" played by Matthew Nable and Brandon Routh. It is heavily theorized that voice behind the "Injustice 2" announcement trailer could be Ra's himself and will likely be an ally of Batman in the game against Superman.
Brandon's portrayal of Ray featured him wearing a suite of armor to fight crime complete with enhance strength, flight, blasters and the ability to shrink.
While NetherRealm has not yet made any announcement regarding new characters going to "Injustice 2", it seems that gamers and DC fans will likely be excited to see if the studio could add these characters in the sequel.
The confirmed characters in "Injustice 2" are Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, The Flash, Blue Beetle, Aquaman, Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus, Harley Quinn and Deadshot. Other rumored characters being pitched for the game include John Constantine, Jonah Hex, Darkseid, Doctor Fate, Swamp Thing, Beast Boy, Rorschach, Dr. Manhattan, King Shark etc.
In other news, it seems that PC and mobile app versions of "Injustice 2" could likely launch after the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
It is rumored that the possible launch date for "Injustice 2" could be on March 2017 as "Mortal Kombat" creator Ed Boon teased a PC version soon and chances of it releasing it alongside the consoles or in a later date, WCCFTech reported.
Boon tweeted before a a poll asking fans if the want an updated version of the first "Injustice" game or a separate new mobile app, with the majority wanting a new app by 71 percent.
NetherRealm Studios will likely add some RPG style elements in "Injustice 2" due to the sequel's Gear System. Gaming fans were concerned about the gear system as they felt it could affect the game's overall balance in terms of gameplay.
However, marketing manager Brian Goodman explained that he and the developers anticipated this and stated that they making it "intelligently" in order to present something unique.
"Injustice 2's" gear system allows gamers to upgrade each characters abilities and stats by unlocking several loot gears after a match whether they win or lose. Not only will it change the character's appearance, but will gain extra boost of powers and even unlock new ones.
NetherRealm Studios added that they will include more items and special features in the loot system as players can obtain the powers and abilities of other DC characters once they win a battle.
"Injustice 2" will launch sometime in 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
