The latest details for "Tekken 7" will feature three returning characters and possible cross-platform gameplay on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.
Several rumors are making rounds regarding possible returning "Tekken" characters joining the roster of "Tekken 7" soon. Five characters have rumored to join the sequel which includes Lei Wulong, Anna Williams, Julia Chang, Zafina and Roger Jr., EventHubs reported.
It is heavily speculated that Lei Wulong could return to "Tekken 7" as the game's first DLC character. Game producer Katsuhiro Harada tweeted an answer to a fan asking if Lei will be added to "Tekken 7's" roster and stated that their is still a chance for him to included, however, he explained the usage for the character was very low and their effort was not enough.
As for Roger Jr., his chances of being included are rather unlikely as Harada and Bandai Namco has a "tough decision" on adding more non-human characters like Kuma and Roger Jr. in "Tekken 7". With that in mind, their decision might prompt a mixed response from gaming fans as some would prefer not add them in the roster, while others want them as they have been part of the "Tekken" series,
Julia Chang, Anna Williams and Zafina have not been added to "Tekken 7's" roster and Bandai Namco still consider them in the roster due the popularity these three have in past games.
"Tekken 7's" roster so far, include Jin, Kazuya, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Steve Fox, Lars Alexanderson, Alisa, Asuka, Lili, King, Marshall Law, Paul Phoenix, Lee, Nina, Bryan Fury, Leo, Feng Wei, Yoshimitsu, Xiaoyu, Dragunov, Bob, Miguel and Devil Jin. There also new faces inroduced in the sequel such as Katarina Alves, Claudio Serafino, Jose Rizal, Lucky Chloe, Jack-7, Gigas, Shaheen, Master Raven, Akuma and Kazumi Mishima.
In other news, it seems that the cross-platform gameplay feature could still happen in "Tekken 7", the catch however, is that it could likely happen in the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
Bandai Namco stated that their cross-platform gameplay plans for "Tekken 7" will not happen due to the fact the PC version may offer several security risk.
Harada explained that PC users will likely "cheat" in "Tekken 7" when fighting against console users. The risks of being hacked and data mining could jeopardize the game itself and will not hesitate to go through with the plan.
However, there is still a chance that PS4 and Xbox One users can still have a cross-platform experience, but Bandai Namco has yet to confirm the idea of its development, GameNGuide reported.
Bandai Namco game designer Michael Murray tease gaming fans of a possible PS4 Pro support for "Tekken 7" soon. Murray stated that he and the Japanese game developers that they are still "undecided" about it being ported to the new console, but assured to the fans that they will give an update about it.
"Tekken 7" will launch in early 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
