Fans of Apple's health app will be happy to know that the most recent update to their mobile operating system, the iOS 10.1.1, addresses a bug that prevents the health app from showing any data. This posed problems to fitness enthusiasts and other users who needed the health app for personal reasons.

Released just one week after the launch of the iOS 10.1, users can now install the update by tapping Settings, General and Software Update, Forbes reported. Prior to the iOS 10.1.1, the iOS 10 introduced users to new features such as revamped messages app, redesigned lock screen, new looks for the maps and music, and several other new features.

The iOS 10 was then updated to iOS 10.1, whose standout feature was the "Portrait Mode". It enables the use of the dual camera of the iPhone 7 Plus to achieve the "Bokeh Effect", which produces a sharp subject with a blurry background.

The iOS 10.1.1 update is available for iPod Touch 6th generation and later, iPhone 5 and later, and iPad 4th generation and later, according to AppleIt is highly recommended that users create a backup of their current operating system before actually installing the update to make sure that no files will be lost during the transition.

While the iOS 10.1.1 is a relatively small update, it can cause trouble without a backup so users are better off doing some preparation before going ahead. This is important for every Apple user, but more so to those transitioning from older versions of the iOS such as the iOS 7 and iOS 8.

Users are advised to gather all login information before installation. A passcode may be required if it is enabled in the device. Those installing for another person in another device will need the Apple login information handy. Once downloaded and installed, users will still be able to downgrade to the iOS 10.1 update in case it causes any trouble.

Here is everything users need to know about the iOS 10.1.1:
