The iPad Mini 5 may come on Oct. 27 alongside the other Macs. It was not present during Apple's product launch in September, but it is expected to be introduced with minimal improvements and without any major overhaul on the design and specs.
In a sense, an October release for the iPad Mini 5 is a bit overdue, with the iPad Mini 4 having been launched in September 2015. Apple has sent out invites for the press event at the Cupertino headquarters and fans are hopeful that this could signal the launch of the new iPad Mini, despite rumors that it will be released in March next year. On top of the agenda is the launch of the new MacBook Pro and the entire Mac range, PC Advisor reported.
The supposed iPad Mini 5 may be rebranded as the "iPad Pro Mini", and may come equipped with a 7,000-series-all-aluminum casing, Touch ID sensors, improved 3D touch, A9X or AX10 processor, 3GB of RAM and Apple's latest mobile operating system, the iOS 10, according to Macworld.
If it does materialize, it is expected that Apple will drop the 16GB version and start with a 32GB model instead. As for the price, it can be predicted that the cost will be £319 ($389) for the 32GB Wi-Fi Only version, £419 ($510) for the 32GB Wi-Fi + 4G version, £399 ($486) for the 64GB Wi-Fi version, £499 ($608) for the 64GB Wi-Fi + 4G version, £479 ($584) for the 128GB Wi-Fi version and £579 ($705) for the 128GB Wi-Fi + 4G version. The prices are based on same price points as the previous iPad Mini 4.
The next Apple event can be streamed online at http://www.apple.com/apple-events/october-2016/ on Oct. 27, Thursday, 10am PDT / 6pm BST.
Viewers may also watch on any Apple device running iOS 7.0 and up, or on a Mac running OS X 10.8.5 or later. It is also available for viewing on the Edge Browser on a Windows 10 computer, and via the Apple TV running TV OS 6.2 and up.
