Blizzard Entertainment's first-person shooter "Overwatch" recently rolled out their "Winter Wonderland" event that showcased tons of new stuff and Holiday-themed skins to its fandom from all over. The giving does not seem to stop there as the developer graced every active account five Christmas crates free of charge.
Such move by Blizzard is their way of giving back to fans that have supported the game since it went out in May of this year. The update went live on Christmas eve and players will just have to log in to their respective accounts in order to get their free gifts, according to PCGames N. Some gamers even mused that a new set of hero skins will be given away on Christmas day itself, though, no further announcements were spilled by Blizzard after the loot crate blowout.
The renowned developer also uploaded a video featuring game director for "Overwatch" Jeff Kaplan thanking fans for making the game one of the most sought after multiplayer titles for 2016. The director also pointed out that they plan to release more updates and events for the game in the following year as he hinted some it in the 12-minute video.
One of the notable future updates that he mentioned is for the character Sombra. He said that his team is planning to balance some of the hero's abilities as most of the players complain about the character's slow changes. Kaplan also hinted the early release of the "Oasis" control map where it is described as a technologically advanced city in the middle of the Arabian desert, Digital Trends reported.
Moreover, Kaplan spilled out his plan in adding a new hero in the game and went on saying that the character has a lot of potential to be one of the newest inductees in "Overwatch's" roster of fighters.
