Chinese Firefighters

A firefighter’s work involves a lot of physical activities that one criterion to be accepted in the fire department is applicants must be fit and healthy. Chinese firefighters who posed for the 2017 Chinese Firefighters’ Calendar show they are not just fit and healthy but even buffed.

As a result, their shirtless photos on the 2017 Chinese Firefighters' Calendar had gone viral, The Star reported. With the shirtless firefighters are the fire engines, dogs, axes and other firefighting equipment the men use in their work. The men said the firm eyes, six-pack abs and well-sculpted physique are proof of how strong the search-and-rescue forces of China are in providing citizens with a stronger sense of security.

Beyond Fires

Firefighters more than just battle blazes. They are also called for other emergencies which other first responder units could not handle, ranging from helping free a four-year-old Chinese girl whose foot was stuck underneath a revolving door in a mall to cutting free a man’s genital trapped in a sex toy for two days.

Other firefighters have released their own 2017 calendars such as Malaysians and Australians in similar poses. The Malaysian firefighters featured officers with chainsaws. The buffed look is part of the country’s fire department’s “Let’s Get Fit” program, said Senior Superintendent Norizan Saad from the department’s Corporate Management Division.

Fund Raiser for Hospital Burn Unit

The Australian calendar was shot in Gold Coast, Australia, made to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Westmead Children’s Hospital Burns unit, Daily Mail reported. It features 14 muscular Australian firefighters who are half naked, soot-covered and battling fires.

But despite their macho looks, some of the men posed carrying very cute puppies, up for adoption and lent by the RSPCA.,After the photo shoot, pictures of the firefighters were posted on the Facebook page of the Firefighter’s Calendar Australia with good response. One of the photos with the RSPCA puppies got over 13,000 likes.
