Korean singer and actor Jung Joon Young is going to France this week to work on a new music album. But it appears the real reason he is leaving South Korea for an extended period is a sex video.
His victim, a former girlfriend whom the celebrity allegedly filmed a sex video without consent filed a lawsuit against Jung Joon Young. However, he was acquitted.
C9 Entertainment, on Sept. 24, said in a statement that his ex-girlfriend filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Jung Joon Young. But it turned out he was investigated for sexual harassment for using a hidden camera to film their sex encounter.
The woman initially filed a lawsuit against the actor on Aug. 6, but she cancelled it after a few days. By then, the case was already with the East District Prosecutor’s Office. While he admitted to filming their sex, the male celebrity insisted the camera was not hidden out of the belief she consented to filming it. Jung Joon Young said he deleted the video, but he did not surrender the phone he used to film their sex because the mobile phone was broken.
But despite the acquittal, the scandal it created – which is similar to what another actor and singer, Park Yoochun, recently went through – made Jung Joon Young resign from his shows “2 Days & 1 Night” and “Mr. Baek: The Homemade Food Master” before the court acquitted him.
Although working on a new album in France would indicate he would return to Korea, there is no definite timetable of his comeback which would be announced after a thorough discussion. It is also unsure if he would promote on broadcasts or not, according to Allkpop.
