British retail website Littlewoods put a placeholder for "Red Dead Redemption 2" as the game will be released on Oct. 2 for the PS4 and possibly the Xbox One.
The start of October does seem quite early for a launch of this scale, however, based on last year’s release schedule it would also likely put it out ahead of the likes of "Call of Duty" and "Battlefront 2".
There is also the added problem of Rockstar Games of their track record of having to delay games. The first "Red Dead Redemption" game had to be pushed back a month to make way for further polishing, so even if Littlewoods were spot on the launch date, the game could still come out on a different date.
Rockstar Games sequel to the western game will feature three playable characters and an online mode similar to "GTA Online" in "Grand Theft Auto 5".
