Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release seems imminent in the light of the ongoing discounts on Surface Pro 4. The upcoming flagship device is expected to be released at the Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona from Feb. 27 to March 2.

The upcoming device is packed with numerous new features and technical specs, which are missing in the current Surface Pro 4. The Redmond-based company had previously delayed the release of Surface Pro 5 in order to incorporate the latest technology in its architecture.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has an excellent display comprising of a 2736x1824 pixel LCD screen that comes with 267ppi density. This already is a perfect screen, which provides clear and sharp picture. The awaited Surface Pro 5 is rumored to feature a 4K/UHD display along with a 3840x2560 pixel screen.

One of the biggest upgrades that the new device is expected to have is the latest Intel Kaby Lake processor in comparison to the Surface Pro 4, which runs on SkyLake architecture. The new Intel's Kaby Lake processor is much better as it is capable of faster clock speeds due to the enhanced 14nm manufacturing.

Apart from the new enhanced processor, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to be available in different configurations, such as a low-powered Intel Core M chip and a high-powered Intel Core I chip. It will also come in a variety of RAM, internal storage, and different screen specifications.

Another change expected in the new version of the Surface Pro is that it may incorporate USB-C. This is similar to other smartphone and laptop manufacturers, according to Forbes.

One of the unique features of the Surface Pro 4 was the Surface Pen, a pressure-sensitive stylus. The latest design of the pen has a mounted eraser, customizable button and has the capability of launching Cortana remotely. The stylus pen will also have the feature of wireless recharging facility and will not require AAAA battery like the current Surface Pro 4, according to Digitimes.
