The latest details for "Kingdom Hearts 3" will have the possible return of Aqua and new weapons, game features and new heartless monsters.
Square Enix teased fans of a new game screenshot for "Kingdom Hearts 3" during the 2017 Monaco Anime Game International Conference last week as the photo featured the game's protagonist Sora figthing a new type of Heartless monster in Thebes using a new shield weapon.
Thebes was featured in the Disney movie "Hercules", which is one of the returning Disney worlds in "Kingdom Hearts 3". The new giant Heartless in the photo will definitely cause some trouble for Sora and will stress average gamers than a standard enemy.
Sora used the shield to possibly defend himself against the gian Heartless and it could be his Guard Form. The Guard Form allows Sora to transform his Keyblade to other defensive weapons and judging by the rocks erupting from the ground it may have some effect on the environment.
Notably absent from the screenshot are Sora’s party members Goofy and Donald, and perhaps even Hercules given the setting. This is due to the previously revealed requirement for Sora’s Keyblade Drive Forms that the party member “fuse” with the blade. Guard Form is of course just one of several to be found in "Kingdom Hearts 3", Gamerant reported.
Aside from the new weapons and Heartless, "Kingdom Hearst 3" will received several features that are found in "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8".
Game director Tetsuya Nomura explained that had plenty of other factors implemented for that sort of replay value within the sequel, so it all depends on the state of development as time goes on. Nomura teased before that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will likely have a character customization similar to Aqua in "Kingdom Heart HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue".
However, Nomura explained that he is still unsure if the character customization feature will be incorporated in the game in time, stating that they have a lot of priorities ahead of them soon.
They also conducted trial and errors about the "Situation Command" and how to display them so it will not look like a simple QTE, etc. "Situation Commands" are an evolution of "Kingdom Hearts 2's" Reaction Commands and would play a integral part in "Kingdom Hearts 3".
Lastly, it is hinted that Aqua might return to "Kingdom Hearts 3" and Riku and King Mickey will likely find her. In the ending scene of "Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage", it is revealed that Aqua sacrificed herself to save Riku and close the door to Kingdom Hearts.
Riku along with King Mickey will head on a journey find to find a battle-scarred Keyblade wielder, who will help them in the coming Keyblade War against Master Xehanort and his new Organization XIII and perhaps this Keyblade wielder is Aqua.
both characters will have a new look in "Kingdom Hearts 3" as Nomura told Dengeki Online (via KH13) that Riku's outfit has been completed and it is based from the Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] 3rd anniversary artwork from July of 2016.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is speculated to be release on 2017 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
