Thorsten Heins, the BlackBerry Ltd CEO said that "the tablet business is rather difficult."
Heins said that he was only interested to pursue areas that the company could make a profit, specifying that he doesn't see much profit on the Tablet right now. But, he is betting on it and is launching Blackberry's high security tablet.
The SecuTABLET, which was based on Galaxy Tab S 10.5 of Samsung, is being presented as Secusmart by Blackberry at the CeBIT 2015 tech fair in Germany. The Canadian company is making a comeback betting on its high security tablet and hoping to gain market shares and turning the company to profitability.
The company in cooperation with International Business Machines Corp and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, developed its new tablet. BlackBerry stressed that the product intended for governments and businesses use has a highly secured connection, reported by The Huffington Post. Governments and businesses were the main niche market of the company before it was outdone by smartphone manufacturers and developers such as Apple Inc.
Significantly, Secusmart GmbH CEO Dr. Hans-Christoph Quelle stressed that "Security is ingrained in every part of the BlackBerry's portfolio, which includes voice and data encryption solutions," when the tablet was presented to Germany's tech fair.
Furthermore, Dr. Quelle elaborated that the tablet was forwarded to the German Federal Office for information Security and is being tested for a certification and security rating. According to him, the new device is using also Secusmart Security Card, a proven secured connection security technology, reported by CNBC.
Dr. Quelle said that the German government and its agencies could have a new way of accessing Blackberry's high security and full communications network worldwide.
The Canadian company has still to disclose when the new tablet will be released and to be available in the market. But the announcement had already caused rave among Blackberry enthusiasts worldwide.
