Windows App Store

Microsoft Windows 10 is scheduled for a summer release and as it is being promoted as a versatile operating system that will run on all devices, big or small, the biggest hindrance that the company faces now is the lack of apps in their app store.

The developers do realize that they are way behind iOS and Android in terms of quality apps which is why Windows based Nokia phones are yet to take off. However, multiple suggestions are being considered before the launch to solve this issue.

Using an emulator to emulate all Android apps on Windows 10 was the first suggestion because Google's operating system has a whole lot of apps and games to be utilized. It is still being considered a rumor but an interesting one that may change the way people see Windows. Besides, Microsoft wouldn't mind taking such a route when compared to Apple, reports Venture Beat.

The idea will save a lot of time as millions of apps will be readily available to support the operating system while the company will focus on encouraging developers to create Windows 10 specific content in the coming months.

While emulator is for starters, an open source developer kit based on HTML, Java script and CSS will be distributed to developers. Any app they develop for the web or other platforms can easily be launched on the OS without much difficulty. The ease of use to create and publish apps will encourage them to make more for Windows 10, Microsoft believes.

With the upcoming operating system being able to run on PCs, laptops, Surface tablets and phones, developers have to make just one app that will work on them all which is an enticing offer to reach a wide range of customers at once. The only task that Microsoft has to focus on, is to deliver quality content to their users and keep low quality, malware away, according to Digital Trends.
