The BMW Mini Augmented Vision was shown at a press conference by BMW, which the company thinks can really help the drivers while they are driving the BMW Mini car.

Google glasses were a total failure in 2014, as they lacked targeted marketing and an audience. BMW begs to differ with their new range of augmented reality glasses which could be the next big thing in the automobile sector, according to Wired.

These glasses are a prototype of a pair of augmented glasses which are manufactured and owned by BMW. It is designed to provide the drivers with a heads up and help them to look for directions and also many hidden obstacles, according to Recode.

These glasses will also be providing the drivers with a handsfree mechanism of texting and controlling their music playlist. The exterior camera of the car will also be combined in this mechanism and this combined version will be able to give the driver a sort of a see-through vision of what is happening behind the vehicle. This could immensely increase the safety measures while driving on busy highways.

Technologies like WiFi, Bluetooth, features of the current day smart phone, GPS sensors, Qualcomm processors, Android OS, will be incorporated in these oversized cool augmented driving glasses.

These glasses will be really big in size and will be designed in the shape of the generic aviators and will work with the BMW Mini's existing system, for the time being. It will be launched at the Shanghai Auto Show this week.

It has already been shown at the San Francisco auto show, as a demo and it was termed as an equivalent of a new concept car, altogether. BMW plans to release this device with other cars in the franchise soon.
