‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5 Finale: 5 Most Shocking Deaths, Jon Snow’s Is No. 2

Kit Harington is believed to reprise his role as Jon Snow in "Game Of Thrones" season 6.

"Game Of Thrones" season 5 episode 10 titled "Mother's Mercy" had an even higher main character body count than the HBO series' season 3 episode 9 titled "The Rains Of Castamere," in which the infamous Red Wedding took place.

In "Game Of Thrones" season 5 finale episode, viewers were surprised a series of deaths. Here are the five characters whose deaths in the finale episode are regarded as the most shocking:

5. Selyse Baratheon (Tara Fitzgerald)

Having appeared in "Game Of Thrones" seasons 3, 4 and 5, Selyse is a recurring character born into House Florent of Brightwater. In the fifth season's finale episode, the character hanged herself on a tree. She is the wife of Stannis Baratheon.

4. Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane)

The army of Lord Roose Bolton (Michael McElhatton) defeated the army of Stannis, who was executed by Brienne of Tarth (Gwendolyn Christie), in "Game Of Thrones" season 5 finale episode.

 3. Princess Myrcella Baratheon (Nell Tiger Free)

Introduced in "Game Of Thrones" season 1 but was not featured in seasons 3 and 4, Myrcella is a recurring character is the daughter of Jaime Lannister (Nicolaj Coster-Waldau) and Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). In the fifth season's finale, Myrcella was poisoned to death in the hands of Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma).

 2. Jon Snow (Kit Harington)

Jon's alliance with the Wildlings led him to his unfortunate end. "Game Of Thrones" season 5 episode 10 ended with his brothers of the Night's Watch attacking him. Olly (Brenock O'Connor) then repeatedly stabbed the Lord Commander.

 1. Ser Meryn Trant (Ian Beattie)

Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) murdered Meryn Trant in the "Game Of Thrones" season 5 finale episode, which many viewers may find very satisfying due to the latter's pedophiliac crime in the brothel. However, because of the murder, Arya was punished by Jaqen H'ghar (Tom Wlaschiha) by turning her blind.
