Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Better Than Surface Pro 4? Specs, Features Compared

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release has been delayed yet again. This has led analysts to compare it with its precedessor and evaluate which is the better device.

Since its very first day in the market, Surface Pro 3 is a huge success and is still riding high on it popularity tide. Surface Pro 3 was released a year ago and its successor, Surface Pro 4 is expected to launch in 2016. 

Surface Pro 4 proudly boasts of being a two-in-one device as it will be an easy to go replacement for a conventional tablet and a laptop. It will basically be a "laplet", according to Christian Today. On the other hand, Surface Pro 3 is a device which boasted of some killer specs and based on these specs it is also a good replacement for the laptop.

Surface Pro 4 is rumored to be equipped with Windows 10, on its launch. Whereas Surface Pro 3 was packed with Windows 8 upon its arrival, which can now be upgraded to 8.1 and then later to Windows 10, according to Giz Mag.

It is also reported that Surface Pro 4 will be launched with two variants, one will be sporting a 12-inch screen while the other will be sporting a 14-inch screen. Both the products will be equipped with a screen resolution of 2140x1440 pixels.

One of the variants will be equipped with Sky Lake processor and the other will be equipped with the Broad Well chipset. Both the variants will be backed up with 16 GB of RAM.

In contrast, Microsoft Surface Pro 3 came with six variants with different hardware and price combinations in order to appeal to a wider market audience.

Surface Pro 4 is rumored to be powered with a much larger memory capacity, 1 TB, in comparison with Surface Pro 3 which was equipped with only 512 GB of internal storage. 

Surface Pro 3 prices have dropped recently in anticipation of Surface Pro 4 release. Hence it is also a good bet for the budget consicious customers.
