Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be hitting the market later this year with upgraded features and hardware compared to its predecessor.
Regarding the display size, Samsung Galaxy Tab S was available in 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch models when it was first launched, according to The Latino Post. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is expected to be available in two screen sizes. One variant is rumored to be 8 inches in size and the other may be 9.7 inches in size.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is being released with smaller variants than Samsung Galaxy Tab S, the main focus seems to be on the portability of the device. It is alleged to be 5.4 millimeters thin and very light; certainly much lighter than Samsung Galaxy Tab S. The device may also sport a Super AMOLED screen, according to The Tech Radar.
Regarding the processing and memory features, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is rumored to be equipped with a 64 bit Exynos chipset along with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB inbuilt storage. It will also be featuring a Micro SD Card slot to expand the memory.
On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Tab S sported Krait 400 SoC processor which was clocked at 1.9 GHz and had 3 GB RAM along with 16 and/or 32 GB storage options. Like its successor, it also had a Micro SD expansion option (till 128 GB).
Design-wise, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is expected to comprise of a metallic frame, the likes which can be seen in Galaxy S6 smartphone. In contrast to this, Samsung Galaxy Tab S was made up of a plastic frame. Hence, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 may be one of the very few Samsung devices to be made up of a metal body.
As far as the release date is concerned for the upcoming flagship Tab from Samsung, it is rumored that it will clash with the release date of Apple's iPad Air 3.
