‘Fifty Shades Darker’: ‘Divergent’ Actor Theo James To Play A Pivotal Role In James Foley’s Film?

Theo James is rumored to play Jack Hyde in James Foley’s upcoming “Fifty Shades Darker.”

"Divergent" actor Theo James has been rumored to play the role of a pivotal character in James Foley's upcoming "Fifty Shades Darker."

According to News Everyday, James was a substantial choice, along with "The Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder, to play the role of Jack Hyde, the boss of Anastasia Steele. The publication added that the competition was tough, since both actors are suitable for the role and they both demonstrate a touch of intricacy for the aforementioned character.

Somerhalder was reported to be thrilled and interested to work along with Dakota Johnson, who played Steele in Sam Taylor-Johnson's "Fifty Shades of Grey." Fans are looking forward to see the "The Vampire Diaries" actor in Foley's "Fifty Shades Darker," as his enigmatic looks and eye contact suits the sensual theme of the film.

Meanwhile, James could also be an interesting actor to play Steele's boss, as he has proved his role as a lover in Neil Burger's "Divergent" and Robert Schwentke's "Insurgent." The actor is set to reprise his role as Four in Schwentke's upcoming two-part film of the "Divergent" film series, which are entitled "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" and "The Divergent Series: Ascendant."

Along with the new titles of the upcoming "Divergent" film sequels are their logos and taglines, which can be seen in MTV. The tagline for "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" reads "Break the boundaries of your world" while the tagline for "The Divergent Series: Ascendant" says "The end is never what you expect." According to MTV, the finale could either mirror or diverge from the pages of Veronica Roth's novel.

Foley's "Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to premiere in theaters on . Meanwhile, Schwentke's "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" is set to premiere on Mar. 18, 2016 while "The Divergent Series: Ascendant" is scheduled to hit theaters on Mar. 24, 2017.
