Neil Druckmann hinted that Naughty Dog is interested in doing "Half Life 3" if Valve would just hand in the reigns. The creative director joked that they will be more than willing to continue the franchise given the chance.
"The Last of Us" and "Uncharted 4" director recently tweeted about "taking care" of "Half Life 3" if Valve would give them the license for the game.
According to Game Rant, Druckmann's post should be taken as a joke, given that there are no serious discussions about the production companies regarding the franchise.
The outlet, however, pointed out that Naughty Dog taking over the video game may just prove to be a welcome surprise. It held that it may be able to address some of the issues in the game, like being "dialogue-heavy" and having multiple cut-scenes.
"Half Life 3" may probably be one of the most anticipated video games this 2015. Although it remains to be seen if Valve was actually working on a third installment, multiple reports suggest that the production company was working on the sequel, more than a decade after 2004's "Half Life 2." The latter failed to provide a concluding narrative which made fans wonder if there will be more in the franchise.
Unfortunately, Valve has yet to confirm or deny the existence of a third game. Insiders often claim that the game will be out by 2017 or 2018 but that has yet to be confirmed. Screen Rant also pointed out that the game has become "more of a joke than an actual possibility."
