Losing Barrett Barber, the final artist on Monday, to fellow "The Voice" coach and best friend Blake Shelton could finally break his eight-season bromance with Adam Levine.
E! News reports that Adam did not like Blake's fallback strategy of connecting with contestants by saying he comes from a certain place. Adam called it the "dumbest thing ever!" But rather than get angry, Blake, while trying to his amusement over Adam's reaction, asked his BFF "If it doesn't bother you, why are you still talking?"
Adam retorted, "No, you bother me."
The sharp exchange of words between the two coaches, according to the entertainment website, would constantly be seen throughout season 9.
Episode 2 of the current season featured Blind Joe, who joined Blake's team and returning season 8 contestant Ivonne Acero who picked Pharrell as coach. Gage Navarro failed to make any of the four judges turn, while Regina Love had to pick from Adam and Blake, ultimately opting for the Maroon 5 frontman to be her coach, reports Hollywood Life.
Judges did not turn for Bryan Bautista, but Adam and Blake again fought it out for Emily Ann Roberts who picked Blake. Ellie Lawrence picked Gwen Stefani over Adam and Blake, while no one turned around for Natalie Vacovazzi. The last contestant, James Dupre, picked Adam over Blake because the former was the choice of his four sons even if his choice was Blake.
So far, Gwen has 6 singers, Blake 5, Adam 4 and Pharrell 4.
