Jennifer Lawrence plays Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2."

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2," the last film in the successful Hunger Games franchise, premiered in Beijing on Thursday, with the screening attended by the film's director and leading cast.

Director Francis Lawrence, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth all made an appearance at the premiere.

This is the first time the cast of the franchise came together in China to premiere the film.

The director was sure to thank the fans, expressing how excited he was to bring the conclusion of the beloved series of films to China.

"I feel fantastic. I mean, it's a great honor to bring our film to Beijing, for the first time. It's the final installment, but it's our first time, as a group, bringing the movie here. It's a pleasure," said Francis Lawrence.

The story of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" follows Katniss Everdeen, portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence, who leaves District 13 to team up with her friends and liberate the citizens of Panem.

Hutcherson gave a sneak peak of the much more complicated relationships fans could expect among the characters in the final film.

"The relationship is very complicated, because Peeta has lost his mind, he's been hijacked and tortured. So it's a long road to recovery for him. But the love of Katniss helps bring him back around to become himself again," said Hutcherson.

The previous film in the franchise, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," grossed more than 100 million yuan ($15.7 million) during its first three days of release in China.

The Part 2 is set to be released in China on Nov. 20.
