"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part II" actress Jennifer Lawrence has shared her thoughts on being part of Marvel's Cinematic Universe.
Lawrence is playing the role of Katniss Everdeen in Francis Lawrence's forthcoming film "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part II" and has been rumored to play the role of Carol Danvers in Marvel's upcoming slate "Captain Marvel."
Asked by Comic Book Resources if she wanted to play in the same sandbox with "Guardians of the Galaxy" actors Bradley Cooper and Chris Pratt, Jennifer said that she would have loved to play in a sandbox with the actors.
Jennifer's response was open to several interpretations, according to Cinema Blend. The publication said that the actress would have to be involved in James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" films, which could be easily met, Jennifer has worked with Cooper in David Russel's comedy drama "Joy" and she is set to share the big screen with Pratt in Morten Tyldum's forthcoming sci-fi film "Passengers."
With regard to her potential role as Captain Marvel, Jennifer was one of the names mentioned by "Edge of Tomorrow" actress Emily Blunt in her interview with Indiewire on Sept. 12.
While Blunt said that the list of actresses who could play the role was very short and that it was uncommon to see women in a superhero role, she cited the names of "Mad Max: Fury Road" actress Charlize Theron and "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" actress Rebecca Ferguson, who could play the role, besides Jennifer.
Overall, whether Jennifer would be seen in Marvel's Cinematic Universe or not is yet to be revealed.
Aside from "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2," Russel's "Joy," and Tyldum's "Passengers," Jennifer is also set to be part of Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse," Steven Spielberg's war drama "It's What I Do," and an untitled Darren Aronofsky project.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Clafflin, Evan Ross, Natalie Dorner, Jena Malone, Elizabeth Banks, Gwendoline Christie, Julianne Moore, Mahershala Ali, Willow Shields and Donald Sutherland, among others.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -Part 2" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Nov. 20. Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" is set to premiere on May 5, 2017 while Marvel's "Captain Marvel" hits theaters on Mar. 8, 2019. Meanwhile, Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" premieres on May 27, 2016.
