The Google Nexus 2016 release date will most probably happen at the company's annual I/O Developers' Conference.

Latest grapevine claimed that Google will bring a smartphone and tablet combo next year. LG and Huawei are predicted to come back and help Google in making the new generation of devices.

Google Nexus 7 (2016) is rumored to make a comeback next year as Google will reportedly release a third generation of the device courtesy of Huawei. Phone Radar spotted a Weibo post from an unnamed tipster saying that Google is already working on the new tablet and Huawei will most likely to take the helm based on what the China-based company delivered through the Nexus 6P.

LG, on the other hand, is reported to be in-charge of the company's high end smartphone. LG delivered two of the most popular Nexus smartphones for Google - Nexus 4 and 5. This year, the company made the mediocre Nexus 5X.

While most Nexus 2016 specs and features are still unknown, hearsays claimed that the devices will run the new Android N operating system. The dessert name of the OS is still unknown, but Nougat and Nutella are some of the candidates.

In a Reddit AMA, Android and Chrome UX director Glen Murphy confirmed that Google's working on ways to make Android a more work-friendly platform. Thus, it will make it easier for users to multi-task.

"There are many things, like multi-window, that we've been spending a lot of time on - hopefully we can share more about this soon. We're working on lots of things right now for N that, of course, we wish we had, you know, yesterday... But we'd spoil the surprise of N if we shared all of them. Split screen is in the works!" Murphy said.
