It seems that the plot detaisl for "Sword Art Online" season 3 could be based on the "Progressive" novels and the "Alicization" arc as 'SAO' producer Shinichiro Kashiwada is interested in adapting both storylines within the anime show, Youth Health reported.

Kashiwada stated that he wanted to do "Alicization" arc first since the storyline itself has not been implemented in the anime series and admitted that the "Progressive" novel series is almost complete, which could indicate that he plans on adding it to the show.

Although, Kashiwada did not mention what he is working on "Sword Art Online" season 3, anime fans are hoping that the "Alicization" arc could be the main story for season 3, while others would like to see the "Progressive" novel series in the show, Chinatopix reported.

The "Alicization" arc will feature Kirigaya Kazuto/Kirito working for a mysterious private enterprise called Rath by VR crime division officer Kikuoka Seijirou. He was hired to test the 4th generation experimental FullDive equipment called "Soul Translator" and observe its functions for data and side effects. However, the new FullDive gear was meant to be used in the military and it became compliant as it created a virtual world called "Underworld", which allows time to move a thousand times faster than the real world. Kirito became trapped in the virtual world and lived for eleven years as child.

The "Progressive" novel series a reboot of the original "Sword Art Online" manga and its illustrated by Himura Kiseki. The series is published by Dengeki G's Comic, after its separation from Dengeki G's Magazine, where the original "SAO" manga was serialized on.
