New "Spider-Man 2017" detail reveal possible introduction of the Sinister Six, as well as a cameo appearance in "Doctor Strange" the movie.
Marvel co-president Louis D'Esposito tweeted a photo on his Twitter page which features "Doctor Strange" director Scott Derrickson and the new Spider-Man, Tom Holland during the set of the film. The photo immediately sparked several rumors and speculations that the new web-slinger could make an appearance in "Doctor Strange" film knowing that the scheduled launch date of the film is set Nov. 4, 2016 a few months before the "Spider-Man 2017" reboot.
So far, Marvel has not made any statement regarding the possible cameo appearance of Spider-Man in "Doctor Strange" film. The movie will star "Sherlock" lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch as Earth's Sorcerer Supreme Stephen Strange and the film will likely introduce the concept of magic, mysticism and alternate universes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as opposed to alien technology. Joining Cumberbatch is "12 Years a Slave" star Chiwetel Ejiofor as the villain Baron Mordo, "Snowpiercer" actress Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Rachel McAdams and Madz Mikkelson, Screenrant reported
In other news, it seems that the "Spider-Man 2017" film will likely introduce the super villain group, the Sinister Six in the MCU.
Writer Brandon Corbin theorized that the "Spidder-Man 2017" film will be the foundation for Sinister Six since Kraven the Hunter is being hinted to be the film's main villain. Kraven is one of the original members of the Sinister Six in the comics along with Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Mysterio, Sandman and Electro.
Doctor Octopus, Sandman and Electro have already made their live-action appearances in past Spider-Man films and the end credits of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" already teased possible formation of the Sinister Six consisting of Rhino (Paul Giamatti), Doc Ock, Black Cat (Felicity Jones), Kraven, Vulture and Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan). Sony was planning on having a film version of the super villain team, but was scrapped due to Spider-Man being introduced in the MCU from the partnership Sony made with Marvel Studios.
Corbin stated that "Spider-Man 2017" and future projects for the web-slinger could potentially lead to the Sinister Six build up and its possible members could be Vulture, Scorpion, Kraven, Electro, Rhino and Kraven or even adding Doc Ock to make it a Sinister Seven which did happened in the comics, Moviepilot reported.
Both Vulture and Scorpion have been rumored to be in "Spider-Man 2017" film and they will be portrayed by "Twin Peaks" star Billy Zane and "American Pie" actor Jason Biggs.
Spider-Man will appear first in "Captain America: Civil War" on May 6, 2016 and his new solo film on July 28, 2017.
