Internationally acclaimed rock band Iron Maiden announced that China will be one of its stops for its "The Book of Souls World Tour" this year, as reported by China Daily.
Members of the heavy metal band, along with their crew and staff, will travel on the jumbo jet Ed Force One, which is piloted by the band's vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The plane will carry stage equipment over 90,000 kilometers around the world.
The tour is expected to hit 35 countries, with concerts in China beginning in the spring.
"We cannot wait to get back out on tour. Maiden thrive on touring and getting out to our fans. It's also what we enjoy the most. As this will be our very first visit to China, the whole band is really excited about seeing our fans here and putting on the very best show we possibly can for you," said Dickinson in a recorded video posted on the band's website.
The band has yet to decide on a playlist for their concerts in China. However, Dickinson has said that he and his fellow musicians are excited to perform their new material live for the Chinese audience.
"However, we will include plenty of older fan favorites, too. I think the fans will be delighted by what we have in mind. We are also in the middle of creating the new show (world tour) and rest assured we are working hard to bring you all something spectacular, something with a lot of heart. You certainly deserve it for your patience," said Dickinson.
Iron Maiden was founded in 1975 in London by bassist and songwriter Steve Harris. The band has become successful through the years, gaining a large following worldwide.
While the band's lineup has changed several times, the group has remained active all throughout. They've released 38 albums and performed over 200 live shows all over the world.
In September, Iron Maiden launched their latest album, "The Book of Souls." It topped the charts in more than 40 countries.
