To get the best new models of smartphones this year, gadget enthusiasts have got to take a close watch for February's massive trade show. It is going to be later this month when gadget geeks gather in Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress 2016, which runs from Feb. 22 to Feb. 25. Here, users can expect big budget smartphones to be unveiled.
Samsung is believed to be launching the next version of the Galaxy phone; however, the iPhone maker won't make it to the venue.
Here are the things people should expect from technology giants during MWC 2016.
Samsung
Last year, Samsung surprised experts with its unveiling of the Galaxy S6 Edge, and for this year, the South Korean manufacturer will repeat its feat with an S7 Edge variant. The new handset is in fact leaked on its own website before its official reveal on Feb. 21.
LG
LG will also unveil during the MWC 2016 several types of smartphones, TVs, Blu-ray speakers and players. It will feature its update of 2015's LG G4 the same day as Samsung.
HTC
The Taiwanese manufacturer has had a rough couple of years especially that it failed to challenge its competitors Samsung and Apple. Surprisingly, it has featured the Oculus Rift-style Vive VR headset, which has gone popular these days. HTC is also expected to unveil the HTC One M10, especially that it has focused on its design quality and camera improvements. The company has also partnered with US sports brand Under Armour, which is currently talking about wearable fitness gadgets.
Huawei
For the MWC 2016, Huawei will feature a range of various handsets including the Honor 5X. It is expected to showcase its launch on Feb. 21, when the event starts to open. It will also come up with the Huawei P9, which will feature a thinner design and a whopping 6GB of RAM, which means it's ultra-fast.
Blackberry
BlackBerry never hesitates to beat its overwhelming competition. Its BlackBerry Priv was first unveiled during the MWC 2015, with a bold step over Google's Android OS. However, one may need to wait if the company will show off its latest flagship during the Barcelona event.
