"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 recently dropped a shocking bombshell in the lives of Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard (Simon Helberg).
In "The Valentino Submergence," it was revealed that Bernadette is pregnant with their first child.
The following week's "The Positive Negative Reaction" saw Bernadette telling Howard that she's pregnant.
Now, Rauch and Helberg spoke with The Toronto Sun about the huge twist in the lives of their characters.
According to Rauch, she's very excited to have a baby on TV.
"I think what's really great is the writers have always done this fantastic job when any big changes on the show happen. They've always kept the essence of what the show is and it hasn't changed that DNA as a show and it's beautiful how they have done that," she said.
Meanwhile, Helberg said that he believes the writers will be able to present the pregnancy in such a way that will be appealing to fans.
"I think they'll handle it in the beautiful, nuanced way they seem to handle everything. I can't wait to experience the anxiety and the joy and with him," he said in reference to his character.
In other news, "The Big Bang Theory" cast member Jim Parsons will be celebrating his birthday on the show alongside its 200th episode.
According to the actor who plays the role of Sheldon Cooper, the show's 200th episode will be huge especially because they will have tons of guest stars.
"We've got awesome guest stars. Batman, Adam West is in that episode. Will Wheaton is there and Sara Gilbert. A lot of fun people from the family. It's really fun, good episode of 'Big Bang,'" he said.
Parsons' on-screen partner Mayim Bialik added, "It's big. We throw a really big party even though he doesn't really want it and there's some really epic guest stars and it's a very fun episode."
The cast members of "The Big Bang Theory" have also shared photos showing their preparations for the 200th episode.
