After Bethesda announced "Fallout 4" during the 2015 E3 and subsequently releasing the game in November 2015, there are rumors that the company will keep the tradition this year. Bethesda is set to announce "Elder Scrolls 6" at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June.
If the game developer company announces the next iteration in the "Elder Scrolls" series during this year's E3, it will not be surprising for fans to get the game before the end of the year. There are rumors that Bethesda will shorten the time between game announcements and releases.
The game developer might release "Elder Scrolls 6" as early as November as a way of replicating the success of "Fallout 4." However, Bethesda has remained mum about the upcoming installment, and whether or not it will come out this year, fans should expect to see "Elder Scrolls 6" someday. The only assurance is that the company is busy working on new titles.
Recently, Todd Howard, the game studio's director, unveiled what is keeping them busy, but at the same time kept coy and careful not to reveal too much information. Speaking at the DICE 2016 summit, Howard said that the company is working on three projects that are different from what they have worked on before.
According to Gamerant, Howard said, "We have three longer-term projects we're doing that are all...we'll talk about them at a much future date. But they're different than anything we've done before while also being a Bethesda-style game; big and crazy. But in many ways different than things we've done before."
It is possible that the projects Howard is talking about are new, and may not necessarily include a follow-up entry in the "Fallout" or "Elder Scrolls" franchises. However, fans anticipate that "Elder Scrolls 6," which they have been clamoring for will come out soon.
The release pattern for Bethesda to release a new title is five years. Considering "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" was release in 2011, it is likely that a follow-up title should come out this year. Fans should to see that come to fruition.
