It is official that HTC will be launching the successor to the HTC One M9 very soon. While the company is yet to unveil the exact launch date of the smartphone or any specific details apart from the shiny metal bezel in a teaser image, there have been increased rumors lately with leaks of the handset.
According to NDTV, the past couple of days have seen a new set of leaks hit the web, showing the press renders of the phone, specifications, live images, a possible launch date, and a different name for the upcoming flagship smartphone - HTC 10. Initially, HTC unofficially confirmed the HTC One M10 moniker for the next flagship phone. This might no longer be the case.
Renowned tipster Evan Blass, aka @evleaks, revealed that HTC will, this time, be dropping the "One" and "M" in the HTC One M10, and launch the smartphone with the moniker HTC 10. Furthermore, the company in its handset teaser has left out One M10 and only put hashtag #powerof10, confirming the rumored HTC 10 moniker.
Meanwhile, tipster @Onleaks as well confirmed the HTC 10 moniker alongside some specs and live images displaying the prototype smartphone from different angles. The images coming from the two tipsters are similar to the previous leaks and the company's own teaser image.
Besides the broad chamfered edges, the images show a metal clad HTC 10 to come with a physical home button, according to a different report by the same publication. The button is located below the display together with two capacitive buttons for move back and accessing multi window options. There is a slightly protruding rear camera with two antennas running at the top and bottom of the back panel.
The smartphone has a headphone jack at the top in addition to the volume and power buttons on the right hand side. The bottom of the image shows a mic USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille. The upcoming smartphone will also sport HTC's Boomsound tech with Dolby Audio.
According to @Onleaks, the prototype HTC 10 iteration features a 5.15-inch QHD display, Andreno 530 GPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 12MP rear camera similar to Nexus 6P, and USB Type-C port. Preliminary reports already rumored the specs.
In a different tweet, Blass teased that HTC 10 will launch on April 19, the same date perceived in the display of the handset in the teaser image.

In case it wasn't obvious, I'd say that Tuesday, April 19th -- the date on the screen -- is nearly a lock for HTC 10 launch.
