While the cast of “The Bachelorette” 2016 has yet to be confirmed, multiple insiders confirmed that Caila Quinn has already accepted the role of the new female lead. Reality Steve even previously hinted that Ben Higgins’ former contestant was a perfect match for the role. And if that is not enough, a new report also revealed that the filming for “The Bachelorette” season 12 has begun.
According to Us Weekly, Caila has been spotted filming in her hometown in Hudson, Ohio for "The Bachelorette" 2016. An observer told the publication that there is a high possibility that Caila was "filming her Bachelorette intro package."
During the Women Tell All, Caila admitted that she was surprised when Higgins sent her home. While "The Bachelor" 2016 viewers already know that Higgins is in love with the two contestants, JoJo Fletcher and Lauren Bushnell, Caila admitted that she could not help but feel blindsided by it all. Given that Higgins had been showering her with all the attention, it was perfectly understandable to see where she was coming from.
Although she was still upset that Higgins did not pick her, Caila shared that, at the end of the day, what matters to her is Higgins' happiness.
In February, ABC entertainment president Paul Lee hinted that the next Bachelorette will not be a white female. He said that he will be "very surprised" if the next lead was "not diverse."
For some time, "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" franchise had been receiving backlash for not including men and women of color in the mix, except for the Latino Bachelor.
Given that Caila is from a half-Filipino, half German/Irish/Swiss, she definitely fit the bill perfectly. In the even that she actually decide to go on "The Bachelorette" 2016, Caila said that she wanted marriage to be on the table. She pointed out that people had been used to going on several dates without knowing if they had a future together. By being on the Bachelorette, she claims that the contestants were, more or less, also looking to settle down.
"I feel like it would mean a lot to have guys who actually are interested in you come to the table and have intentions of marriage at the end."
