Speculations say that Apple may tighten their iOS security and it could happen any time within their major launches. This security restraining may cause elimination of common jailbreak loopholes. Speaking of jailbreak, the long been waited jailbreak for iOS version 9.2.1 may not be happening any time soon, or not at all.
Top jailbreak developers reportedly shift their focus on creating a jailbreak for the upcoming iOS version 9.3, instead of doing the jailbreak for version 9.2.1. This supposed change of priorities makes lesser chance for the jailbreak to be available. Since there are speculations that there would not be any jailbreak available for version 9.2.1, users may either wait for the release of iOS version 9.3 or find their own way to get their devices jailbroken.
There have been several discussions about Apple's stand on developing jailbreaks for all their iOS versions. Majority say that Apple should leave the platform accessible for anyone who wants to jailbreak their devices, freewill as it may seem. However, looking at previous instances where Apple is put to test, the company seems very particular when it comes to security of both their technology and their users. Nevertheless, debate on getting jailbreak legalized is far from being granted by the technology tycoon Apple.
Other developers are contending that they already have created the jailbreak tools for iOS version 9.2.1, but they were not able get any support from known jailbreak developers. With how things are going, it seems like Apple users who are waiting for iOS version 9.2.1 will have no luck in getting the jailbreak tools they need, except if they are able to break the code of their own.
It was reported that there was someone who was able to get into the system of iOS version 9.2.1, and was successful in jailbreaking his device. Luca Todesco shared his success in hacking the iOS version 9.2.1, but does not want to publicize how he was able to do so. According to Todesco, he only shared his success to let Apple know and other developers that the extremely secured iOS version 9.2.1 can be jailbroken.
