It is said that come Christmas season of 2017 is when the "Avatar 2" will be released. It was reported that the principal photography of the "Avatar" sequel will begin on April 15 in Manhattan Beach and in New Zealand.
After six years of waiting, whether the sequel of "Avatar" is going to happen or not, it has been finally reported that James Cameron will be working on the photography next month. This is good news for the fans that were really anxious about the development of "Avatar 2." The original date of the release was moved perhaps to allow Cameron to work on a film that would surpass the expectations of many, because it will be the foundation of the next two other installments.
According to rumors, Jake Sully's (Sam Worthington) life as a Na'vi avatar will be the primary focus of the next movie. In "Avatar 1," Jake's human body died which forced Princess Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and the rest of the Na'vi to transfer Jake's consciousness permanently into a Na'vi body. The children of Neytiri and Jake will also join the cast, making "Avatar 2" more family oriented.
On December 2013, when Cameron was still at the pre-production stage of "Avatar 2," the Associated Press asked him regarding his visions for the sequel. He told the press that the sequel will be superbly exciting, as he will fill Pandora with new creatures and environments. Cameron also added that the next two installments that will be released on 2018 and 2019 will reveal the cultures within Pandora. He will also show more sides of the Na'vi, along with introducing new Na'vi characters. It is also possible that Cameron would make Jake Sully as the Chieftain of the Na'vi while Neytiri will be the priestess in "Avatar 2."
On the other hand, the "Avatar" sequel, no matter how long it will be developed, deserves the patience of the fans. What Cameron did in the first "Avatar" movie is enough to call it as one of the most epic films of all time.
