Given below is the Android N release news for Samsung Galaxy Note 4, S6 Edge Plus, S6, S6 Duos, Note 5 and Note 6.
Many Samsung devices are now getting the Android Marshmallow update. The tech giant Samsung has rolled out the Android Marshmallow update to the unlocked version of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6.
However, the Marshmallow update is still not available in some carrier variants. For owners of Galaxy Note 5, the mobile carrier Verizon is offering the Android Marshmallow to the device.
However, many tech enthusiasts are looking forward for the launch of Android N. According to Digital Trends, Galaxy Note 6 will be released in July this year with Android N preinstalled.
Samsung Galaxy Note 6, which will be released in July 2016, will have Android N right out of the box. According to some reports, the search giant Google is at present in the last stages of developing Android N.
Android N will be unveiled at Google I/O 2016 that is scheduled to be held on May 18 through May 20. It is expected that Google will introduce Android N and showcase some of its features at Google I/O 2016.
Early adopters can experience the features of Android N through the Android N Developer Preview.
The meaning of 'N' in Android N has not been disclosed by the tech company yet. Some reports suggest that the next firmware could be named Nachos or Nougat.
According to industry experts, if the Android N landed on Samsung Galaxy Note 6 later this year, other Samsung devices such as Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Duos and Galaxy Note 5 will get the firmware eventually.
Some of the features of Android N include Multi-window, Direct-reply notifications, Improved Doze Mode and Bundled notifications, BGR reported.
Android N will enable users to open two apps in split-screen mode on their devices. Also, it brings with it more Quick Settings options when users slide the notifications pane down. Users can have nine toggles in a single Quick Settings screen.
Doze gets a few improvements. With Android N, Doze will work when a user's phone is not in use and also when the screen is switched off.
