Earlier reports suggested that the software giant Apple will unveil the MacBook Pro 2016 at the March event. But the company did not reveal the laptop at the said event. However, according to recent reports, MacBook Pro 2016 will now be released in June.
Rumors are doing the rounds that the 15-inch and 13-inch models of the MacBook Pro will be fitted with the Intel's 6th generation Skylake chips.
The newest processor has already been used by companies such as Dell, Microsoft and HP in a number of their devices.
It is faster compared to any other processor presently existing in the market. According to several reports, the Skylake processor optimizes usage of battery that will result in a prolonged battery life of the laptop.
Furthermore, the software company is working on slimmer MacBook Pro laptops, as slim as the MacBook Air, 9To5Mac reported.
At present, MacBook Pro models are offering a dual band a/c Wi-Fi, PCIe flash storage, Force Touchpad Trackpad and non-Retina and Retina displays. Rumor has it that all future releases of MacBook Pro will be Retina display-capable because the non-Retina and Retina displays are of the same price.
Skylake processors suitable for a 15-inch MacBook Pro update showed up on price lists from the chip company Intel in January of this year, and Skylake processors suitable for an upgrade to the 13-inch MacBook Pro were announced in September last year. It is likely that both processors will be available to the tech giant in the first months of this year.
Moreover, a new series of mobile Xeon E3 chips are also possible for the 15-inch MacBook Pro.
According to an Apple Insider report, the 2016 MacBook Pro will also likely incorporate other technologies such as Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C.
Intel's Thunderbolt 3 is a connector technology that can handle super-fast data transfer speeds of 40 gigabits per second (Gbps) while using the USB-C port presently used in the MacBook 2015.
With Thunderbolt 3's fast data transfer speed, the upcoming MacBook Pro will be able to support external graphic cards. It means that the MacBook Pro 2016 will be more compatible with gaming and other high-performance applications.
