Good news DC superhero fanatics as the time-travelling series "Legends of Tomorrow" was officially renewed for a second season.
As what was expected, according to Variety, the superhero series has been granted with a new season, which is said to include a new lead character. What fans did not expect is the producers move to keep the show's current roster onto the next season.
It was reported before that the show's executive producer Marc Guggenheim might not cast the same crew, and that the show could end up with its last episode of this season, Screencrush learned. He also added that if there would be a season 2, fans might not see the same superheroes with it. This is to somehow change the current content of the story and introduce other superheroes to shake the whole series big time, and hopefully earn positive results from it.
Fortunately, that plan has been cancelled, and the latest buzz confirmed that the producers will still cast the same names, including Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Arthur Darvill, Victor Garber, Franz Drameh, Caity Lotz and Ciara Renee. There is also a possibility that viewers would still see Dominic Purcell. The producers' decision to keep the original cast could be due to the show's steady performance in terms of the ratings, and that changing the crew may affect the show negatively.
On the other hand, the shows EP, along with some members of the cast, exposed some scenes during their WonderCon presentation. Some scenes revealed the team's time- travel to the Old Wild West days bumping to another superhero in the name of Jonah Hex, who will be played by Johnathon Schaech.
It is still not clear though whether it is Hex that the producers are talking about when they said that season 2 will include a new hero. However, one thing is clear, and that is Hex will play a major role in the remainders of this season. Other characters that are expected to be featured on remaining episodes of "Legends of Tomorrow" season 1 includes Ra's al Ghul's other daughter (and frequent Batman foil) Talia al Ghul and a mysterious character that will be played by "Firefly" alum Jewel Staite.
DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" season 1's finale episode, which airs on May 19, shall finally expose the said superhero that will set the mood for the upcoming new season.
